Vermont is a state in the New England region of the northeastern United States. Vermont is the 6th least extensive and the 2nd least populous of the 50 United States. It is the only New England state not bordering the Atlantic Ocean. Lake Champlain forms half of Vermont’s western border, which it shares with the state of New York. The Green Mountains are within the state. Vermont is bordered by Massachusetts to the south, New Hampshire to the east, New York to the west, and the Canadian province of Quebec to the north. Vermont is also the leading producer of maple syrup in the United States.

  1. Vermont Scholarship Applicant must be a high-school senior and attend one of the high-schools located in the state of Vermont;
  2. Vermont Scholarship Applicant must have a G.P.A. of at least 2.0 at the time of completing the Vermont scholarship application;
  3. Vermont Scholarship Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, and Vermont resident at the time of completing the Vermont scholarship application;
  4. Vermont Scholarship Applicant must register his/her name and email address, and scholarship preference with National Academy of American Scholars;
  5. Vermont Scholarship Applicant must write an essay in 500 words or less why he/she believes that as an Vermont resident, how winning the Vermont scholarship will benefit the state of Vermont.
