Iowa is a U.S. state located in the Midwestern United States, an area often referred to as the “American Heartland”. Iowa was a part of the French colony of New France. After the Louisiana Purchase, settlers laid the foundation for an agriculture-based economy in the heart of the Corn Belt. Iowa is often known as the “Food Capital of the World”.   1. Iowa Scholarship Applicant must be a high-school senior and attend one of the high-schools located in the state of Iowa;
  2. Iowa Scholarship Applicant must have a G.P.A. of at least 2.0 at the time of completing the Iowa scholarship application;
  3. Iowa Scholarship Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, and Iowa resident at the time of completing the Iowa scholarship application;
  4. Iowa Scholarship Applicant must register his/her name and email address, and scholarship preference with National Academy of American Scholars;
  5. Iowa Scholarship Applicant must write an essay in 500 words or less why he/she believes that as an Iowa resident, how winning the Iowa scholarship will benefit the state of Iowa.
