New Mexico is a state located in the southwest and western regions of the United States. New Mexico is also usually considered one of the Mountain States. New Mexico is the 5th most extensive, the 36th most populous, and the 6th least densely populated of the 50 United States.

  1. New Mexico Scholarship Applicant must be a high-school senior and attend one of the high-schools located in the state of New Mexico;
  2. New Mexico Scholarship Applicant must have a G.P.A. of at least 2.0 at the time of completing the New Mexico scholarship application;
  3. New Mexico Scholarship Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, and New Mexico resident at the time of completing the New Mexico scholarship application;
  4. New Mexico Scholarship Applicant must register his/her name and email address, and scholarship preference with National Academy of American Scholars;
  5. New Mexico Scholarship Applicant must write an essay in 500 words or less why he/she believes that as an New Mexico resident, how winning the New Mexico scholarship will benefit the state of New Mexico.
