Maryland is the 9th smallest state by area, but the 19th most populous and the 5th most densely populated of the 50 United States. The state’s most populated city is Baltimore and its capital Annapolis. It was named after Queen Henrietta Maria. Of the 50 U.S. states, Maryland has the highest median household income, making it the wealthiest state in the nation.

Maryland Scholarships (MD Scholarships)

  1. Maryland Scholarship Applicant must be a high-school senior and attend one of the high-schools located in the state of Maryland;
  2. Maryland Scholarship Applicant must have a G.P.A. of at least 2.0 at the time of completing the Maryland scholarship application;
  3. Maryland Scholarship Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, and Maryland resident at the time of completing the Maryland scholarship application;
  4. Maryland Scholarship Applicant must register his/her name and email address, and scholarship preference with National Academy of American Scholars;
  5. Maryland Scholarship Applicant must write an essay in 500 words or less why he/she believes that as an Maryland resident, how winning the Maryland scholarship will benefit the state of Maryland.
