Arkansas is a state located in the Southern region of the United States. Its name is an Algonquian name of the Quapaw Indians. The state’s diverse geography ranges from the mountainous regions of the Ozark and the Ouachita Mountains, which make up the U.S. Interior Highlands, to the densely forested land in the south known as the Arkansas Timberlands, to the eastern lowlands along the Mississippi River and the Arkansas Delta.   1. Arkansas Scholarship Applicant must be a high-school senior and attend one of the high-schools located in the state of Arkansas;
  2. Arkansas Scholarship Applicant must have a G.P.A. of at least 2.0 at the time of completing the Arkansas scholarship application;
  3. Arkansas Scholarship Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, and Arkansas resident at the time of completing the Arkansas scholarship application;
  4. Arkansas Scholarship Applicant must register his/her name and email address, and scholarship preference with National Academy of American Scholars;
  5. Arkansas Scholarship Applicant must write an essay in 500 words or less why he/she believes that as an Arkansas resident, how winning the Arkansas scholarship will benefit the state of Arkansas.
