Please Donate to the Student Victim Fund
Teachers are assaulting students at record numbers. Many of these convicted teachers are either sentenced to No Jail time or very little jail time. Even Teachers merely accused of sexual assault are retaining their positions.
Mission of the Student Victim Fund
Unfortunately, there is no legal requirement for schools or courts to help the students that were victimized. Oftentimes, students who were traumatized or victimized must hire expensive attorneys or either just settle for being a victim.
The mission of this fund is to raise funds for victims, raise awareness of this crisis, and reward students, and parents, and others, who help expose teacher predators. Students and parents should be empowered to Take Back the Classroom!
2015-16 Hispanic Scholarship Opportunities for Hispanics
It is without question that Hispanic Scholarships will increase access to educational opportunties for Hispanics, as well as their assimilation rates into main-stream American culture. Hispanic scholarships, grants, and financial-aid are options that are available to Hispanic students seeking merit-based scholarship opportunities as well as Hispanic scholarships dictated by ethnicity. This reports seeks to provide a compilation of Hispanic scholarships, grants, and financial-aid resources for Hispanics, as well as commentary regarding Hispanics and and the need for more Hispanic scholarships.
According to a compelling report from the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study, Hispanics continue to trail their American caucasion counter-parts in various grade-levels, and lack sufficient notices about Hispanic Scholarship opportunities. Numerous educators are not informing Hispanic students of meaningful and resourceful Hispanic scholarship opportunities.
U.S. Hispanic fourth graders, along with their white and Asian peers, scored higher than the international average, while black students scored lower. However, Hispanic and black students both scored lower than the U.S. national average. As Hispanics move up the educational ladder, however, statistics become bleaker, and drop-out rates increase.
As with math, U.S. Latino and black eighth graders fell below the international average as well as the national average. White and Asian students scored higher on both. Over the past decade, Professors Nicole Alia Salis Reyes, and Amaury Nora, from the The University of Texas at San Antonio, report daunting statistics with regards to Latinos and Hispanics in the U.S. education system.
The Latino population within the U.S. has grown from 35.3 million to 50.5 million, composing 16.3 percent of the total U.S. population (Ennis, Ríos-Vargas, & Albert, 2011). In fact, Professors Nicole Alia Salis Reyes, and Amaury Nora, claim that more than half of the growth in the total population of the U.S. from 2000 to 2010 can be attributed to the increase in the Latino population.
While Latinos clearly constitute asubstantial portion of the U.S. population, they continue to represent a struggling group in the areas of educational attainment, and scholarship acheivemet.
The need for additional scholarships, grants, and financial-aid for Hispanic, Latino, and students of Latina high-school students is rather obvious.
Importance of Hispanic Scholarships
Hispanic scholarships are important for a number of reasons. Hispanic Scholarships are sponsored and funded to addresss unique issues and circumstances that in principle and actual theory largely affect Hispanics. Sponsors that promote and fund Hispanic Scholarships do so because of their belief that Hispanic Scholarships will not only help Hispanic students, but represent a benevolent act of helping humanity. Hispanic Scholarships help to address a growing lack of funding and scholarship opportunities for Hispanic students.
Why we sponsor Hispanic Scholarships
Though projected to increase significantly over the next decade, the college-going rate of Latino high school graduates is currently lower than that of their peers who are actively seeking scholarships, grants, and financial-aid. Hispanic Scholarships, grants, and more financial-aid for Hispanic students may cure this deficiency. Although many Latino students in middle and high school have the potential to become amongst the first in their family to attend college, many lack Hispanic Scholarships, grants, and financial-aid. Hispanic Scholarships are Getting Bigger
More and more corporations, and non-profit organizations are stepping up to the plate, and providing millions of dollars to fund Hispanic Scholarships, grants, and financial-aid. There is really very little excuse for any Hispanic student that does well in school, and behaves himself/herself not to receive a suitable Hispanic Scholarship, grants, and/or financial-aid package.
Then again, if a Hispanic student does not apply, or does not have the ambition or will power to purse his/her goals then all of the Hispamic scholarships, grants, and financial-aid in the world will not help.
